Ticket Giveaway: An Horse w/ Middle Class Fashion and Peach at Old Rock House

RIYL:

  • All things Australian (duh).
  • Tegan and Sara (#duh).
  • Loud, technically-proficient pop compositions.
  • Feeling-laden songs balanced by witty, welcoming stage banter.
  • Two-pieces who look and dress alike.

An Horse‘s sophomore album, Walls, spins tales of longing/heartbreak/anger/love/normalsongstuff woven between Kate Cooper’s buzzing, spastic guitar work. This Sunday, Cooper and Damon Cox descend upon Old Rock House with their energetic stage show along with St. Louis’ Middle Class Fashion and Peach.

If you missed An Horse open for Manchester Orchestra at The Pageant last May, or if you’re relishing the opportunity to see them in a smaller venue, this is your chance. Speaking of Awesome Shows That Happened Earlier This Year, remember last weekend when Tights Pants Syndrome and Paper Dolls tackled Electric Light Orchestra for An Under Cover Weekend? Us too – that performance was sick (and laser-y, as it were). Well, Middle Class Fashion is composed of Jenn, Brad, and Brian from either TPS or PD (or both!), and Sunday will be the perfect time for you to see them as…them. Additionally, Peach is performing on the heels of an epic party-esque EP release show at The Heavy Anchor.

This is kind of a win-win-win when it comes to Sunday night concert line-ups, as I’ve demonstrated above. Bonus: ORH has generously offered up a pair of tickets to IWTAS. All you have to do to win is tell us why you’d like to go in the comment section or on FB. No need to get all fancy and write us a haiku, Basho (we’ll leave that to the pros). Just keep it real like these three bands tend to do and I will choose the winner completely subjectively on Friday afternoon. Good luck!

Note: For our nerd/friend followers of IWTAS, this concert will be the first show in the second installment of our recurring series, “3 Night Stand”. Catch us again at Old Rock House for Jenny Owen Youngs (I love her and we’re sponsoring) and St. Vincent. Expect more ticket giveaways and some heartfelt show coverage or whatever.

I would like to win tickets to the show simply because I work 2nd shift 6 days a week and my wife has to put up with the boredom of staying in without a husband to go out with.
We love and enjoy the venue, it has a great personality and the atmosphere is fantastic to watch a live act!
Thanks for the opportunity to win these tickets!

I am admittedly musically uneducated; I enjoy the blog because I like the witty banter and whimsically descriptive writing. My love for writing and all things English-y logically led me to become an English teach (and a fan of I Went to a Show). While I love my job (I also coach), it sucks the soul out of any free time that comes my way. I don’t get out much these days, but this line up sounds right up my alley. I would love a good excuse to add a little spice to my bland musical palette and social life. And, a concert, on a school night! I’d be such a rebel.

I love the Old Rock House. Seeing Ten out of Tenn there tomorrow night! I’d love to win some tickets to head back there again!
