I Went To A Showcase Preview Part I: Tunes, Tacos, and T-Shirts
April 29, 2011
This wee, local music blog is just about a year old and that’s reason enough to celebrate. Therefore, IWTAS is so grateful for the opportunity we’ve been provided to host some of our very favorite St. Louis bands on what is sure to be beautiful, spring Saturday night.
It seems that Off Broadway has entrusted us to throw one hell of a party on May 14th. To accomplish this feat, we’ve asked the following friends to help us:
- Pretty Little Empire, Tight Pants Syndrome, The Dive Poets, and The Breaks (along with some surprise guests) are going to play their respective brands of indie rock, whipsmart pop, boot-stompin’ Americana, and garage pop. You’re gonna wanna dance and drink and make out to these bands.
- Cha Cha Chow, a gem of a food truck normally stationed Downtown on weekdays, plans to feed your faces with several types of tacos, sandwiches, and other delights.
- DJ Christian Schaeffer, or as he is affectionately known in inner circles – Schaeftown, will be spinning jams from his extensive collection in between sets or even outside (he does what he wants; dude’s out of control).
If you’re not familiar with everyone on the I Went To A Showcase line up, we’ll be posting a smattering of sounds, pictures, and videos to get you acquainted over the next couple weeks. In the meantime, RSVP to the whole damn thing right here.
Oh, and order a shirt that we’ll have ready for you on Showcase night (or after if you can’t make it, which is just absurd).
Yes…that’s right. A t-shirt of your very own.
Buy an official-as-they-come, handscreened in St. Louis IWTAS t-shirt (not game worn, sorry. Sweat in them yourselves, creeps). Our team can attest to their fashion, function, and comfort as we all wore them on Record Store Day. Just fill out this form and do it up.
OMG WE CAN’T WAIT TO HANG OUT WITH YOU PEOPLE.
