The Fortnightly: May 2nd – May 15th
May 4, 2011
The next couple of weeks are chock full of attendance worthy shows in and around town. While we HIGHLY encourage you to be at Off Broadway next weekend, the Saturday before offers a concert for nearly every time of the day or night.
If you’ve never browsed Tower Grove’s impressive Farmer’s Market, this Saturday might be the perfect time to check it out. Greet your friends friends and neighbors and shop/eat/drink while listening to St. Louis institution Bob Reuter, Greenstrum creator Ryan Spearman, and blues/rock darling Beth Bombara play music under the West Pool Pavilion.
Later, make your way to Cherokee Street for an all-day, local music laden line-up brought to us by Secret Sound Society in celebration of Cinco De Mayo. St. Louis’ newest talent will be on display, as well as seasoned favorites like So Many Dynamos (set times and such in the link below).
Finally happily wrestle with the decision we at IWTAS face on an almost weekly basis: choose the little jaunt to Firebird for indie up and comers Here We Go Magic or saunter to Off Broadway for those wild boys in Kentucky Knife Fight. Either choice will be the right one. Stay hydrated and designate a driver, y’all.
And we’ll see your happy asses on the 14th.
