Yesterday afternoon, Chris Porterfield this posted on his band’s Facebook page: “Hey St. Louis, we’re going to be passing through next Thursday, Aug. 22. Want to host a house show?” Though we might still be recovering from last month’s Samantha Crain/Beth Bombara show, hosting Milwaukee’s Field Report was just too sweet of an opportunity to pass up.

Emails were sent. Logistics were roughly sketched out. So here we sit, Friday morning, inviting you to come to Soulard next weekand hang out  in a living room and watch one of the best songwriters out there right now play in front of your face.

We’ll open the doors around 7:30 and the music will begin at 8:30 or so. We’re asking for 10 bucks at the door, all of which will go to the folks making the music. If you’ve never heard of Chris Porterfield or his Field Report, we recommend surprising yourself and showing up anyway. It’ll be great.
