Cody ChesnuTT plays Twangfest tomorrow at Plush.

Enigmatic, enthralling neo-soul artist Cody ChesnuTT headlines the first evening of Twangfest tomorrow at Plush. Landing ChesnuTT in this coveted opening night spot underscores Twangfest’s expanding commitment to reflecting the rich, varied musical landscape to which St. Louis plays host.

Following his lauded The Headphone Masterpiece (2002), ChesnuTT took a decade away from the music scene before releasing another full-length, Landing on a Hundred, in 2012  (and a subsequent B-sides EP in March of this year). Bonus: On Wednesday, he’ll be playing selections from Headphone Masterpiece that he hasn’t performed live in the ten years since the record was put out.

Twangfest also brought in some big guns to provide support for the show. Inspirational soul singing St. Louisan and 2014 RFT Music Award nominee Theresa Payne will start things off. Check out Payne’s stunning voice on “Bye Fear”, her latest single:

Nashville’s DeRobert & the Half-Truths round out a stellar, soulful Night 1 Twangfest bill.
