[CONTEST] Win a Pair of Tickets to Beach House at The Pageant!
September 20, 2015
In late August, Baltimore duo Beach House released their fifth studio album, Depression Cherry. If you picked it up at Vintage Vinyl when it came out, then you likely discovered that the predictably warm, lush record serves as a fitting soundtrack to the end of a refreshingly mild STL summer.
The very Beach House-sounding approach that Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally took to Depression Cherry isn’t an “if it ain’t broke” situation. As Jayson Greene notes, “Their newest, Depression Cherry, might have the silliest, or at least the most inexplicable, title in their catalog (compare it with the euphonious clarity of Teen Dream, or Bloom, or Devotion), but in every other sense it’s another impeccably measured step forward. Their albums might be an ideal soundtrack for daydreaming, but Scally and Legrand seem remarkably clear-headed about their work.”
If the band finds itself solidly in the pocket of its own trajectory, then St. Louis finds itself gifted with the opportunity to see the Depression Cherry U.S. tour near dead center of the schedule.
Beach House plays The Pageant on Sunday, September 27th with Jessica Pratt. The gems at The Pageant offered IWTAS readers two pairs of tickets to the show! Leave a comment below or on THIS Facebook post telling us why you deserve them and be entered to win!
