At the end of last month, veteran rockers Heartless Bastards shined bright at Off Broadway, playing an eclectic set that began with a stirring performance of “Mountain” off the band’s 2009 album of the same name. I walked into the show a casual listener and left a fan, which is the absolute best kind of weeknight show to attend. It didn’t hurt that the crowd was present, engaged, and grateful. Alberta Cross provided support and were pretty rad themselves.
