Sure, as I get up there in years I tend to get hip to burgeoning musical acts later than most youths (but still a little sooner than your average ‘cool mom’). My discovery of Son Little fit right where I am in life, which is to say I learned about the Philadelphia-based artist while working on a project at my paying job: St. Louis’ National Public Radio affiliate.

Son Little, née Aaron Earl Livingston, served as a judge throughout this year’s NPR Tiny Desk Contest, which solicits live performance videos from unsigned bands across the country. Dude has collaborated with The Roots and Mavis Staples. He’s toured with Leon Bridges. Now, he’s carving out a path for his own music, music that boasts influences from all over America and leaps genres in a single bound.

This is all to say that tomorrow, Pagan Productions brings Son Little to Blueberry Hill’s storied Duck Room for a headlining show, featuring support from hometown hero Steve Ewing. And hey! We have a pair of tickets to give away. Leave a comment below or on Facebook to be entered to win. Contest ends on Tuesday (5/10) at noon!
